Gilmour Space

James Gilmour is a Director of Gilmour Space Technologies, which he co-founded in 2012
with his brother and CEO, Adam. Their company is experiencing strong growth, securing $5
million in Series-A funding in 2017 following the successful launch of a prototype hybrid
rocket in 2016. In 2018, Gilmour Space signed a Space Act Agreement with NASA in
February, and test-fired their orbital engine to achieve 70 kN of thrust in March. It is on track
to providing low-cost, dedicated launches for small satellites up to 400 kg by 2020. James is
also a director of the National Space Society of Australia and is a member of the advisory
council of the Space Industry Association of Australia.
