James has just completed a Bachelor of Engineering (R&D), majoring in Electronics and Telecommunications at the Australian National University. In starting a PhD with the ANU Research School of Physics in 2018, James will be working on free space optical communication technology for high bandwidth ground to satellite communication. James worked as an intern systems engineer at Cochlear Ltd. for 6 months, and has always had a keen interest in the aerospace industry. He currently works for ANU as a technical assistant in the department of quantum science, and has close ties with academics at the Mount Stromlo Advanced Instrumentation and Technology Centre (AITC).
James brings to the AYAA Canberra chapter strong leadership and teamwork skills, and is excited to bring the aerospace futures conference to Canberra in 2018. As Vice Chair, James will primarily be responsible for selecting speakers to reflect Canberra’s unique position as the space capital of Australia.
