Benjamin Koschnick is a space entrepreneur, engineer and enthusiast. Ben rescently completed his bachelor of aerospace engineering and physics at UNSW, specialising in satellite engineering and astrophyscis. Benjamin has a wealth of technical design experience working both in teams and in solo projects. He founded the GreenSat project at BLUEsat, now known as SAAS missions, to develop new agricultural techniques and biotechnology for long space missions. He worked on designing maglev gyroscopic systems, utilising frcitionless bearings to reduce power consumption in satellite attitude control. He interned at Saber Astronatucs, working in software testing, CAD and satellite design.
Ben is cofounder at Spectral Aerospace, working in hyperspectral remote sensing technologies and their commercial applications. He is a graduate of the Founders Institute preseed accelerator and is engaging with customers in oil and gas, agriculture and water system management. In his current role Ben is responsible for product development and technical design of hyperpsectral imaging sensors for satellites missions both in low earth orbit and further afield.
